MATRIMONIAL & FAMILY LAW — ALL FIVE BOROUGHS

Matrimonial law asks for a litigator's judgment, and a confidant's discretion.

Kruvi & Farkas is a New York City litigation firm concentrating in divorce, custody and support — with the courtroom experience to try the matters that do not settle. We appear in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island, and throughout the tri-state area.

WHAT WE HANDLE —

Matrimonial & Family Law

The heart of the practice. Divorce and separation, custody and parenting time, support, and the financial questions that decide how a family reorganizes itself - handled from pre-litigation strategy through trial and appeal.

INSIDE THE MATRIMONIAL PRACTICE —

Family matters are personal before they are procedural.

Most of what follows is decided long before a courtroom - the agreements drafted, the disclosures obtained, and the financial picture established. We build that record first.

A FULL SERVICE LAW FIRM –

The matters below are handled by the same partners who try the matrimonial cases:

Contract and closing disputes, title and boundary issues, and property litigation across boroughs.

Nonpayment and holdover proceedings, lease dispute and eviction defense, in New York City Housing Court.

Contract disputes, partnership and shareholder conflicts, trial representation in state and federal courts.

HOW WE WORK—

Strategy before filing

The shape of a case is set by what is established early. We work through the financial picture, the custodial history and the realistic range of outcomes before anything is filed - so the first move is the right one.

Prepared to try it

Most matters resolve by agreement, and they resolve better when the other side knows the file is trial ready. Both partners appear in state and local courts, tribunals and agencies.

One firm, several fronts

A separation rarely stays in one practice area. Marital residences, closely held business, injury claims and criminal exposure are handled in-house rather than referred out mid matter.

TWO PARTNERS —

Two founding partners. Every matter sits with one of them.

Noy S. Kruvi, Esq.

Noy S. Kruvi is a founding partner of Kruvi & Farkas, where he has built a dedicated matrimonial and family law practice grounded in strategic thinking and courtroom-ready advocacy. He represents clients through every stage of divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and paternity matters — from the first pre-litigation consultation through negotiated resolution or, when a case demands it, trial.

Noy approaches family law with the understanding that these cases are rarely just legal disputes — they involve a client's family, finances, and future all at once. He works closely with clients to develop a clear strategy from day one, whether that means positioning a case for an efficient settlement or building the record needed to litigate aggressively when negotiation fails. Clients rely on him for direct counsel, careful preparation, and a willingness to fight for their interests in the courtroom when it matters most.

Noy earned his J.D. from Vermont Law & Graduate School. He is admitted to practice in New York.

Jay Farkas, Esq.

Jay Farkas is a founding partner of Kruvi & Farkas, where he built a full-service litigation practice spanning federal, state, and local courts, tribunals, and administrative agencies. His work covers an unusually broad range for a single practitioner — criminal defense, matrimonial and family law, employment disputes, civil rights matters, estates and trusts, and general civil and administrative litigation.

Jay advises clients from initial consultation through trial, offering the kind of hands-on, courtroom-tested representation that comes from handling matters across so many distinct areas of law. Whether guiding a family through a contested divorce, defending an individual's civil rights, or representing a client at trial on criminal charges, Jay brings the same rigor and directness to every matter he takes on.

Jay earned his J.D. from the City University of New York School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York (2014) and New Jersey (2015), and before the federal courts.
